Adorn the entry way to your home with your
own personally designed Mezuzah. Students will learn the
significance and the meaning of the Mezuzah in addition to
creating their own. The Mezuzah case is made with either
a gold or silver metallic material for a modern feel or with
clay for an antique look. Students decorate their Mezuzah
with the traditional writing of “Shadai,” personal designs,
and appropriate Jewish ornamentation. This workshop also
teaches students to learn and write the “Shema” in Hebrew
on parchment paper to experience calligraphic, “Sofer-Stam”
(Scribe) style writing. The parchment paper will be secured
inside their casing and will easily be fashioned to any doorway
to complete the ancient tradition of fixing a Mezuzah.
