Throughout Jewish history, the Mizrach (East)
has decorated thousands of Jewish homes to mark and symbolize
the tradition of facing East towards Jerusalem when we pray.
Participants will make their own Mizrach plaques out of a
gold, silver, or copper toned metallic materials using a
simple engraving technique. Copper plaques can be finished
with a delicate tarnish to create an antique look while gold
and silver retain their shine. Your plaque will be ornamented
with the Hebrew word “Mizrach,” personalized decorations,
patterns, and traditional Jewish symbols. Finally, a reflective
mirror is placed in the center of a cut out Jewish star to
enhance the magnificent quality of your Mizrach as it is
proudly hung on your Mizrach (eastern) wall.
